Au Chong Kit (Stanley Au) is a Macao banker — Chairman of the Delta Asia Financial Group and owner of Banco Delta Asia. Born on 28 August 1941 in Macao with ancestry in Xinhui, Guangdong, he is the son of Au Wing-ngok, who founded the bank's predecessor in 1935. Au graduated from Macao's Yuet Wah College in 1958, moved to Hong Kong in 1959 to work in foreign exchange and gold investment, and in 1974 became one of the first Hong Kong dealers to open Loco London gold/silver trading — earning recognition as an outstanding financier from the Financial Times and a German finance magazine. In 1993 the group was formally restructured as the Delta Asia Financial Group, with commercial banking, investment banking and insurance operations across Macao and Hong Kong. A leader of Macao's SME sector, he founded the Macau SME Federation; he stood in the 1999 Chief Executive election, served in the Provisional and full Legislative Assembly, and has long served on the CPPCC National Committee.
A Macao money house founded by his father in 1935 grew, in the son's hands, into a financial group spanning Macao and Hong Kong — and the banker himself was once a pioneer of Hong Kong's gold market.
