Career

I. The birth of Soler and a Hong Kong debut

The brothers formed the rock duo Soler, named after an honorific from their mother's Karen family. In 2005 Soler debuted in Hong Kong, where their first album Stereo drew attention for a style blending rock, soul and folk, and they won the Best New Group gold award at Commercial Radio's Ultimate Song Chart awards. They followed with Intuition (2005), X2 (2007), Canto (2009), Vivo (2010) and Evolution (2018). Within the duo, Julio is a lead vocalist and bassist.

II. Acting and painting

Beyond music, Julio has worked across acting and visual art. He has appeared in film and television and holds solo painting exhibitions, with work shown in Macau and Hong Kong; the press, noting his span across music, acting and painting, has called him "Macao's Renaissance man".
