Liu Chak Wan廖澤雲 · Liu Chak WanLiu Chak Wan is a Macao industrialist — Chairman of the Kangze Group, Chairman of the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) Foundation Executive Committee, and a leader of the Kiang Wu Hospital Charitable Association. Born in 1950 in Hong Kong's New Territories with ancestry in Yongding, Fujian, he graduated from Hong Kong Baptist College in English (1974), then moved to Macao to run his father-in-law's trading firm, expanding from garments and trading into public transport (New Era Public Bus), technology, property and finance — earning a reputation as a businessman who "reinvents himself every decade." His most public undertaking is the co-founding of MUST in 2000, where he long served as University Supervisor and Foundation chairman. Au graduated from Macao's Yuet Wah College in 1958, moved to Hong Kong in 1959 to work in foreign exchange and gold investment, and in 1974 became one of the first Hong Kong dealers to open Loco London gold/silver trading — earning recognition as an outstanding financier from the Financial Times and a German finance magazine. In 1993 the group was formally restructured as the Delta Asia Financial Group, with commercial banking, investment banking and insurance operations across Macao and Hong Kong.
