Career
Born in Hong Kong in 1976, Lawrence Ho is the son of Stanley Ho and his third wife Ina Chan. A graduate of the University of Toronto with a degree in commerce, he began his career in investment banking.
I. Taking over Melco
He took the helm at Melco International in 2001, transforming the family business from a stock-and-property holding company into a gaming holding group.
II. Melco PBL and Macao expansion
In 2006 he co-founded Melco PBL with Australia's Publishing and Broadcasting Limited, securing a Macao gaming sub-concession in 2007. He opened City of Dreams Macau (2009), Studio City (2015), and Morpheus (2018) — cementing his place among the Macao gaming majors.
III. Beyond Macao
In 2022 he opened City of Dreams Mediterranean in Limassol, Cyprus, the EU's first large-scale integrated resort, marking Melco's move into global markets.
