The Gambling King
Stanley Ho was a defining figure of modern Macau. In 1962 he and his partners won Macau's gaming monopoly, and through the Sociedade de Turismo e Diversões de Macau (STDM) he dominated Macau gaming for nearly four decades, building landmarks such as the Hotel Lisboa and profoundly reshaping the city's economy and skyline — earning the title "the King of Macau gambling".
